These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Mooctis (“the platform”, “we”, “us”), operated by Vazantis Oy (Finnish limited company, Y-tunnus / Business ID 3636621-5). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Self-service registration creates a student account; teacher accounts are provisioned by an administrator through an institutional arrangement, not self-service.
Enrolling in a course connects you with that course's teaching staff, who can view your submissions, progress, and grades within that course. Some courses require you to also consent to AI-assisted processing of your submissions as a condition of enrollment; this is disclosed on the course's enrollment screen before you join, and where it isn't required, you can opt in or out at any time from the course page. You retain ownership of the work you submit (assignments, quiz answers, discussion posts). By submitting it, you grant us and your course's teaching staff a license to store, process, and display it as needed to operate the platform — for example, to grade it, show it to you, and, where you've consented, send it for AI-assisted feedback.
Some features on the platform use AI-assisted tools to help with course management — for example, offering feedback on submitted work, answering questions about lesson content, or helping teachers prepare materials. Where a feature processes your submitted work, we ask for your consent first as described in our Privacy Policy, and declining does not prevent you from completing or submitting your coursework — it only changes who reviews it first.
AI-assisted output can be wrong. Teaching staff are responsible for the grades and feedback ultimately released to students, and course policies determine whether AI-assisted results are reviewed before or after release.
We aim to keep the platform available and your data intact, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, and features may change over time. We recommend keeping your own copies of any coursework you consider important, beyond what's stored on the platform.
To the extent permitted by law, the platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law does not allow it (for example, in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct).
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms. You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us; see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data afterward.
If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll ask users to re-confirm their agreement the next time they sign in.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
